INDIRE is an autonomous national institute supervised and financed
by the Italian Ministry of Education. Within a broad range of national
and European interests, the Institute’s main task is to provide students,
teachers, scholars and decision makers with information about educational
resources, projects and technologies in order to facilitate educational
innovation and research and dissemination of best practice. The Institute
is responsible for the development of Italian school libraries/resource
centres, is the Italian agency for EURYDICE, SOCRATES and ERASMUS
projects and participant in a range of other European projects. The
institute also provides an e-learrning platform for the in-service
training of teachers of all educational levels.
Among online information services provided by INDIRE are:
BIBL, a freely accessible bibliographic database of references
to Italian and some foreign periodical and monographic literature
with special emphasis on didactics;
Risorse Internet
per la Didattica, a freely accessible directory of professionally
evaluated internet sites containing educational resources;
RIVI,
a bibliographic database of references to Italian educational periodical
literature from 1987 onwards;
EMER, a directory of current Italian educational periodicals;
Catalogo BPN, the catalogue of the Italian National Educational
Library;
Immagini
per la didattica, an image database covering a number of curriculum
areas;
GOLD,
a database of documentary units relating to best practice in Italian
schools at any educational level, provided by the schools themselves;
Link a siti di interesse per la scuola, a directory of links to
internet sites of interest in the general field of education. |
